This day wont end...

Everyone knows how it is on your last day before a vacation. I cant get out of here soon enough. Next week we will be in fabulous Las Vegas. Cant wait. It doesn't help that I'm tired. Ive played hockey the past two night. All I want to do is put my head down and take a nap. I'll have my laptop with me in Vegas, so hopefully I'll have a cool pic or two, to put up.

Carey's grandmother came home from the hospital on Oct 1. Its the end of a 10 week journey for her. Its so nice to see that she has recovered. Thanks for all your thought.

VIVA LAS VEGAS!

My apolgies...

Hey folks, sorry it's been so long in between posts. I actually had to WORK at work, imagine that.
I have good news to report on Carey's grandmother, she's being transferred to a rehab facility to help her with her breathing and swallowing. She should be there for a month or so. I will keep you updated as I know more. All in all, this is good news.

I really like my new car. It's a real blast to drive. It makes the ride back and forth to work a lot of fun. Carey is going to NJ again this weekend, I'll be home hanging out with the boys and watching baseball. I just need to make it through this week. Its been a tough one at work, but I'm getting by.

Until tomorrow.

New car drama, and I loooooove drama

1. I was supposed to take delivery of my new ride last night. Things were going swimmingly, the deal was finished, the car was fine. We were crossing the T's and dotting the I's on the paperwork when my salesman announced that there has been a "bump." During the process of cleaning the car for delivery, the cleaner removed the lead box that stored the keys from the driver side front window. The window popped out of the track while he was doing this. He then proceeded to try and pop it back into the track, which damaged/bent the part inside the door that causes the window to open and close. Instead of driving my new Toyota home, I left in a PT Cruiser, with the promise that the part would be ordered and replaced today. It's not a huge deal, but it's hard not to be disappointed after getting so close to taking the car. One of my friends made a good point when he noted that "better it happen to him than me." Hopefully Carmax will get the car fixed today and this will all be behind me. We shall see.

2. Carey's grandmother is recovering still. She had a tracheostomy yesterday to help her with breathing and swallowing. Apparently the damage done to her lungs from years of smoking extended the healing process and required her to be partially sedated. Her lungs are healing nicely, and the doctors have removed the drain tubes and the chest tubes. Her next step will be to go from the heart hospital to a rehab center to work on breathing and swallowing. She is doing well though. Her personality is returning. She still has a way to go before she goes home, but progress is being made. BTW..she is in no life threatening danger. FYI to any readers who smoke...quit now.

Incompetence

One of my co-workers emailed me the above image this morning after working with one of my teammates. I've been trying to let our boss know this for some time. Apparently it's just not sinking in. I thought this was hysterical though.

Say goodbye to the google latitude widget on the blog. The more I think about letting everyone who stalks this blog know where I am at every moment, the more I realize that this could be a colossally bad idea. It's a cool thought, but I think it's better not used on a blog.

Apparently the ESPY's were taped last night. SI.com was nice enough to post a small album of Erin Andrews pics today. She's cute, and seems to have a cult following on-line. I'll let you decide if the attention is warranted. Enjoy.

Carey's grandmother had surgery for her blockage yesterday, and we got good and bad news. The good news is, the original blockage was smaller than originally thought. The bad news is the doctors found two more, which means more surgery. One of the ones they found yesterday was in the aorta. So, continued prayers for Tess. She's a strong 80 year old Italian woman from south Jersey, I say that's an asset. I have a feeling that if the doctor doesn't get it cleared up this time, she'll beat him with her cane! Better him than me!

Tonight is $1.50 crab night at the dock of the bay in Millers Island. I hope to have pics for tomorrow's entry. Have a good day!
