Spring? Maybe...hopefully??

Those of you that live in the area know, we experienced our first little taste of spring this past weekend.  It was sunny and in the 70's Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday.  People were out and about everywhere, some even in shorts.  Why must we always rush into summer clothes.

My highlight of the weekend was our trip to the BWI observation area. The lot was full, so people were parking on the inside of the two travel lanes in the lot.  We were on our way out when the Transportation Authority Police showed up and started "generating revenue" for the State at the expense of those not parked in an actual spot.  We discussed how this must be a regular occurance during the early spring months when folks are just itching to get outside.  I'm excited about spring, it brings with it softball, Major League Baseball, and the NHL playoffs.  Good Times!

To my friends in Denver, I saw it snowed there last week.  Enjoy!

Back in the blogosphere...

Life is slowly returning to normal at the office, as the dust is pretty much settled from the big move. All in all, it went well. My co-workers bailing on us at 9:30 Friday night nothwithstanding. It looks like I'm going to be able to resume my "normal" duties at work again.

Things at home are quiet. The wife and I have started training for a 5k run in Takoma Park in May sometime. We needed something to get us going in the evenings. We were doing too much sitting around and watching TV. I'm excited about it, and I know Carey is too. It will be fun to see what the results of this are. I'm going to play pickup tonight, that should be interesting. I got invited by a guy that I had know Idea had played before, so it will hopefully be fun to have a new hockey friend.

We are both looking forward to spring's arrival. We got notice that our softball league gets going in April, that will be a lot of fun. It's a great way to spend a Monday and/or Tuesday night and help stay active.

Back to work for me...until tomorrow.

Take off you hoser...

I'm back at work today after what turned out to be a great weekend. Who would have thunk that a weekend where I ended up in the office on Saturday could be considered as great.

Friday night I pulled 2 numbered, multiple jersey patch cards out of blaster boxes from target. That's a pretty big deal in the sport card collecting world. I also picked up a new book, its called " The Bro Code", anyone that is a fan of How I Met Your Mother will know exactly what I'm talking about. The book is a really funny read.

I got to hang out with "the boys" on Saturday night, which was really nice. Sunday started out with a trip to church, which I haven't done since I got married I think, and then the rest of the day with some new friends. The highlights were a good game of street hockey, and the movie "Strange Brew". We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

I really think that the short taste of spring that we got this weekend, really helped my mood too. The sun and the warmth have made me happy for almost 3 days now. I only hope that my allergy medicine will help me to enjoy some time outside as the trees and flowers bloom. We shall see.

Best Burger EVER!!!

I found this on the hotclicks version of si.com this morning. I have also added the link with instructions for making it. YUMMMMY!

Hotclicks also lead me to a new McDonalds creation this morning. This is just awesome. Enjoy.

Today has been an interesting day so far at work. We had out weekly staff meeting this morning, that went on for an hour and a half. Its fun listening to my co-workers talk, sometimes. I also found that we can take 2 hour lunches, come in late and leave early, for a couple of months and not get fired. I love this place.

Tonight we are going to the Caps game with some friends, so it would be a tough task to ruin my good mood. The wife and I are also in the early planning stages for a vacation. It looks as if we have chosen to head back to St. Lucia in October. This will be the first time since our honeymoon that we have gone out of the country and not done an all inclusive. We're looking forward to it though.

This weekend is gonna be warm, I'm so excited. I might have to get out and play some golf once all the snow is gone. YAY Spring!
