Don't call me Steve...

Those of you that work with me will get this, everyone else will have to take my word for it.
I'm checking my email this morning and one of the developers I support comes over. Her command of the English language is marginal at best. She very clearly refers to me as "Steve". Now for the record, I have worked with this woman for 3 and a half years, and now suddenly she thinks my name is Steve? Seriously? She didn't even say Steve correctly, it was some mutation that sounded like sreeve. I'm not venting just sharing a funny story.

The best part about working with 5 Chinese developers is listening to them talk to each other. The only time they speak English is to one of us. I can always tell if they are talking about work because most of the stuff we deal with, there are no Chinese equivalent words for. The sentences go like this: "Blah blah blah blah MIRENA blah blah blah..." it's awesome. They also sound like they are yelling at each other all the time. Listening to them brings a smile to my face as I sit here in my cube.

Life is so much fun. Stay warm.

Steve

  1. You're more like Steve-O...you're just lucky there is no Chinese derogatory equivalent for that. LOL! Might pay you all a visit on MLK Day...hopefully I don't get kicked out of the premises.
